Internship Program |
![]() |
An internship with the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative is an exciting opportunity to gain valuable, professional experience in a unique, innovative work environment. We bring together leaders from industry, academia, and government to advance technology-based solutions that lead to economic growth and a cleaner environment in Massachusetts.
As our name suggests, interns work in a collaborative environment with professionals on projects related to renewable energy, industry cluster development, and technology-based-economic development. We look for students seeking to match their academic work with a professional work experience.
MTC has now established a more formal Internship Program. We offer paid internships on a semester or co-op basis throughout the year. The Internship Program provides full-time (40 hours per week) opportunities for undergraduate or graduate students.
Internship Opportunities:
We offer internships in a number of departments within the Renewable Energy Trust and the John Adams Innovation Institute. The work is hands-on, offering a wide array of functions designed to provide real-world experience to help MTC projects to succeed, and to expose interns to MTC business practices and the industry in general. Past internship opportunities have included: Community Wind Intern, Green Schools Intern, and Research & Analysis Intern.
Application Procedure:
We encourage you to submit a letter of interest and an updated resume to employment@masstech.org for consideration. We will contact you should your skills and experience be a match for a current or future internship.
Length of Internships:
An internship is normally for 10-12 weeks during the Summer Term (May through August) or for 16 weeks during the Fall Term (August through December) and Spring Term (January through May). It is also sometimes possible to arrange a six-month internship for a student who is in a Cooperative Education program that requires a six-month placement.
Application Deadlines:
We continually review resumes for internships. We encourage you to submit your letter of interest and updated resume prior to the start of the hiring process for interns: February/March for the Summer; June/July for the Fall; and October/November for the Spring.
MTC pays a competitive internship salary but does not provide relocation, housing, or transportation assistance for our internships.
