Project Award Program
The John Adams Innovation Institute, a division of the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative, is releasing this Solicitation for funding from the Project Award Program to support a limited number of exceptional intermediate-scale projects and activities that will have a direct impact on business conditions, increase business formation, and strengthen technology clusters, resulting in substantial economic benefit for the region and the Commonwealth as a whole.
These projects should significantly advance opportunities for the development, retention, and growth of employment in technology-focused economic sectors across Massachusetts. Applicants must demonstrate a fundamental understanding of emerging market opportunities or barriers/constraints that inhibit economic growth in a region or cluster and make a persuasive case about how they propose to address them and thereby create new opportunities.
The John Adams Innovation Institute will make awards, ranging from $250,000 to $500,000, to eligible governmental and non-profit Massachusetts-based organizations in two competitive rounds per year. Unlike the Innovation Institute’s Regional Priority Award Program, there are no predetermined allocations for awards to individual regions within the Commonwealth. Proposals are being solicited from partnerships represented by municipal governments, economic development agencies, industry associations, educational institutions, and other not-for-profit organizations that meet the eligibility criteria as set forth in this Solicitation. While for-profit businesses are not eligible to be recipients of a Project Award, the commitment and participation of industry is required and will be an essential component of every successful proposal.
Project Awards will be made on a competitive, statewide basis following this initial solicitation.
This Solicitation relates to financial assistance from the Project Award Program only.
