EarthComm is a comprehensive earth science curriculum project developed for high school students and guided by the National Science Education Standards. EarthComm does not cover as much material as a traditional earth science curriculum, instead emphasizing important concepts to help students think critically and understand earth systems.
The EarthComm curriculum uses five short textbooks that contain many activities (Earth's Dynamic Geosphere, Understanding Your Environment, Earth's Fluid Spheres, Earth's Natural Resources, and Earth System Evolution). The website does not contain curriculum content or activities, but provides numerous links to additional information related to each activity in the textbooks.
Renewable Energy and Global Warming-related content:
Energy Resources chapter with eight topics, each with sub-topics. Topics include: exploring energy resource concepts, electricity and your community (includes renewable sources to generate electricity), environmental impacts and energy consumption, renewable energy sources - solar and wind.
