Meet our CEO

Pamela Goldberg, Chief Executive Officer

Pamela Goldberg is the CEO of the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative, a public economic development agency charged with strengthening the state’s innovation economy and expanding technology- related enterprises throughout the Commonwealth.  An experienced leader, Goldberg has an extensive background in entrepreneurship, innovation and finance, and is the first woman to lead the agency in its 30 year history. Goldberg works closely with the Patrick administration to support critical economic development initiatives that unlock private investment and create jobs for Massachusetts residents.  MassTech is currently advancing technology-based solutions that improve the health care system, expand high-speed Internet access and strengthen the growth and development of the state’s technology sector.

Passionate about innovation and entrepreneurship, Goldberg most recently served as the Director of The Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership at Tufts University, a program she launched to drive innovation for the university.  Through Goldberg’s leadership, the program expanded from 40 to over 500 students per year, and supported the start of over 50 businesses in Massachusetts.  As Director, Goldberg received the National Teaching Award for Entrepreneurship and established the school’s nationally recognized business plan competition.  Students in the program have won MassChallenge, a $1M global startup competition, and were recognized in Business Week’s Top 25 Entrepreneurs Under 25.

Prior to her work at Tufts, Goldberg served as Babson College’s Director of Business Relations where her management responsibilities included contract negotiations, financial management and operations of businesses with multi-million dollar leases, and critical tenant relationships.  She was involved in the creation of Olin College, the building of a new Executive Education Center at Babson, and helped to enhance community relations between the college and its neighbors.

Goldberg worked on the launch of three start-up ventures: a music production company, a women’s history organization, and a hospice.  At the start of her career, she helped launch the investment banking division of State Street Bank whose mission was to provide private placements, merger and acquisition services, and bond financings for middle market companies. Goldberg received her BA from Tufts University and MBA from Stanford University.
