Project Overview:
Varian Semiconductor Equipment Associates' world headquarters and manufacturing facility is located at Blackburn Industrial Park in Gloucester, MA. Varian completed a feasibility study with MTC which determined that the site, 21 acres of hilly, rocky terrain with a complex of interconnected buildings, has excellent wind resources. Varian determined that this potential is an excellent match for the large electricity consumption on site used for manufacturing purposes. Varian plans to install two large wind turbines by the end of 2009.
