Project Overview:
Eagle Hill School (EHS) is an independent, private boarding school serving grades 8 through 12 located in Hardwick, MA. EHS is installing a 600kW wind turbine to help offset electricity demand and rising energy costs and for environmental benefit. The Eagle Hill School site consists of 155+ acres situated east of the Quabbin Reservoir. Eagle Hill sits on the side of Blood Hill with a ridge line of approximately 1090 feet above sea level. Abutters are wooded acreage or farm land. 2006 electricity usage at Eagle Hill was approximately 1,103,509 kWh with a peak demand of 360 kW. Annual usage is expected to rise to 1,500,000 kWh and 400 kW with the construction of the new student center.
