| Project Overview: |
| Beaufort Wind Power is developing a wind project consisting of six to nine turbines spread over four separate locations in Wareham, MA. The capacity of the project will be from 9 to 14.9 MW, depending on the number and type of turbines installed. The turbines will be grouped in clusters of 1 to 3 units each. The four land parcels, all of which are set back at least a mile from the shore, are owned by cranberry farmers and include active cranberry operations. The turbines will be located on upland areas adjacent to the cranberry bogs. The project will diversify the economic activity of the host cranberry growers and help preserve large tracts of open space.
MTC is providing an unsecured loan to partially finance pre-development activities for the wind project. These activities include environmental assessment, detailed wind resource assessment, permitting, interconnection planning, strategic and financial planning, public outreach, final project design, and preparation of equipment specifications and bid documents.
Beaufort Wind Power expects to complete pre-development activities in late 2008 and begin construction in early 2009.
