Healey-Driscoll Administration Awards $7.6 Million to Support Digital Education and Training

WESTBOROUGH, Mass. — The Healey-Driscoll Administration and Massachusetts Technology Collaborative’s (MassTech) Massachusetts Broadband Institute (MBI) awarded a combined $7,581,940 today to 37 housing organizations in support of digital skills training, device access and other services that help residents secure access to and benefit from the internet.

The Massachusetts Municipal Association reported on the Northeast Microelectronics Coalition's (NEMC) launch of the Preparing Our Workforce for Microelectronics Resiliency (POWER) program, a $1.2 million initiative to support education, training and workforce development across the Northeast. The program offers grant funding to nonprofits, private companies and local governments to address workforce barriers in the semiconductor sector.
